iPP, billiard room only..

A very good concept in pool leagues, billiard rooms only. iPP's league structure is built for the pool player rather than the tavern player. What I like is that billiard rooms are required to have well cared for equipment, a pro shop and access to cuesmiths for repairs or they can not participate. This is probably not a league for everyone. If you are a bar player, you might want to stay there as there are lots of leagues to pick from. On the other hand if you are serious about pool and want to improve no matter what level your at, well this might be a good fit.

I choose to sponsor this league because of its uniqueness to billiard room play and potential growth. I know some may not have the luxury of a billiard room around them but those that do may want to check it out. Anyway, check it out it might be a good positive step.

What does the i stand for in ipoolplayers Pete?

Also, what is the current state of the league? Which city/s and how many teams and clubs?

Cheers,
Colin

At this moment there are regional directors representing parts of California, Ohio, Illinois, New York, Florida, DC area and Pennsylvania. They will be announcing their presence along with the billiard rooms that will be participating very soon. This is a young league with a focus on billiard rooms only with pro shops and cuesmith access for the conveninience of the pool player. The objective is to get pool recognized as a billiard room sport and to achieve this they want to attract the pool players at all levels and not the tavern players.

I will get back to you on the count within two weeks. This league was not expecting to get too large initially however it seems all is somewhat better than expected. (note: There are available regions for those interested in becoming a Regional Director.)

The 'i" stands for international although international plans are not included until 2006.

I like this concept quite a bit. I do understand that there are regions around the country that do not have billiard rooms, though for those that have this league is out to work with them. The winners are the players, the rooms and billiards.

Thanks for the info Pete, it sounds promising and I wish you all luck.

Should be good for the players, the clubs, the producers and the sport!

Hope to expand it into China for you one day.

Keep in touch,
Colin
