In this event, is the field open to all players or do they have to play in qualifiers for this event as well?

I have looked for info on the IPT site and could not find any event details.

Thanks for any help,

KT says 75 qualification tournaments equalling 150 players who play in an event where the top 50 win tour cards.

I'll be the first to admit that math has never been my strong suit!:p

SUBJECT TO CHECK, without going to the IPT website, I believe that the tournaments which have 200 players in attendance, 150 of them are IPT members and the other 50 are players who "qualified" by winning first or second place in an IPT qualifier.

Never really got a solid answer on this.

If Daniel is close to being right then it would be a 200 player field?

THe bottom 50 06' tour card finishers, plus the winners of 75 qualifying tourny's.

Or is it Pay 2k and play in the "07 tour card tourny"?

I suppose the answer is that IPT aren't saying yet exactly how it's going to be.They haven't even clarified yet exactly how they will determine who "loses their cards" and this has been discussed at length in other forums. There is still conflicting information on this subject in their website.

None of the following things are yet absolutely clearly defined:-

1. The number of current tour members who automatically lose their cards (it may or may not eventually be 50,it may be more than 50).

2. The number of tour members with 'lost' cards who automatically gain entry to the December qualifying competition in Vegas.

3. Whether any non-tour card holders who finish in the money list outside the top 100 will get automatic entry into the December event.

4. What will be the total number of runners in the field for the December event, although this was listed originally as total 250 runners(50 + 200).

Under the circumstances it is still unclear how many pre-qualifying competitions there will be for the December event. At one stage IPT seemed to be anticipating to hold 100 of these qualifiers worldwide for 200 places but that would now seem a little unlikely logistically. It is obviously a major operation and those losing their cards won't be known until the money list is finalised after the next two member only events (one of which,The London event, doesn't even seem to have a contracted venue yet) so the prospect of running 100 qualifiers before December seems a little unlikely to say the least.

Obviously the more pre-qualifying events the better for IPT but at some stage they are going to be constrained by the sheer logistics involved and who knows, they might even have to end up with just a handful of "huge field of runners" pre-qualifying events for the total number of places available for IPT hopefuls in the December Vegas 2007 qualifying event (which at an educated guess could be anything from approx 70-200, partly dependant on the factors described in 1,2,3 and 4 above.).Theoretically they might,as others have speculated, end up not even having any pre-qualifiers and just throwing the December places open to those prepared to pay whatever entry fee they fix.

Just my own thoughts and observations,I have no inside track on this at all, hope they help a little:)

I think its quite simple. Originally the IPT got berated for the way they picked the initial 150, but to their credit they added the qualifiers AND let the open qualifers earn points giving them a chance to win a card. This has dramatically reduced the amount of time needed to get a truly world class 150 players on the tour. I imagine by the time the 2007 qualifiers have finished the 150 will look pretty damn strong.

However this has caused a bit of a grey area in the numbers, yes the top 100 (card holders and qualifers) will keep their card, and all the others will be grouped together with x amount of qualifers and play off at the KOTH event in December. It might be 200 or 250 but only 50 will win a card. As per the previous KT audio entry will be 2k for a qualifer (recently confirmed by KT in vegas) and he also said on the audio 1k option but you only get half 2007 prize money.
