Is anyone able to watch the IPT on OLN channel tonight? My picture is fuzzy and the signal is weak. Ragbug74 has had the same problem with that channel since noon today.

Mine was completely blacked out. From the sound of the other thread we didn't miss a lot.

The signal/reception evidently varies greatly from one city to the next - Here in Chicago the IPT broadcasts on OLN come in crystal clear.

Frankenstroke and I are in NW Indiana, just outside of Chicago. We're in different towns, but both have Comcast cable. Both our systems had bad feeds of OLN yesterday. All other channels on my system were fine.

Generally this would be a local problem.

Usually these signals come from a satellite in space and the signal is excellent [from the satellite]. A local cable TV company has a receiving satellite dish which receives the signal, then it goes from there out onto the cable and then into your home.

There can be problems with the local cable TV company's equipment anywhere from their receiving dish to wiring going to your TV and all the electronic gizmos in-between.

In one case in Alaska, a bear decided to sit on a satellite receiving dish and this knocked out reception. So the fix was to place a fence around the satellite dish and realign the dish.

A common problem is that homeowners buy cheap cable TV wire to connect their TV to the wall jack and this allows local broadcast signals to leak into the wiring. When this happens, some channels will have good reception, but some others will have poor quality. The best cable TV wire is usually that provided by the cable TV company and it will say "RG-6" on it. Sometimes when this is the problem, a TV in one room may work better than a TV in another room.

Anyway call your local cable TV company.
