I did a little slicing and dicing on the Reno draw to see if the field strength was balanced and it looks pretty fair so far. Group strength ranged from 29 to 38 (the number is explained in the spreadsheet). Looks like easy 1st rounds for Cliff Joyner, Larry Nevel, Antonio Lining, Efren Reyes, Rafael Martinez, David Matlock. Tougher draws for Santos Sambajon, Johnny Archer, Shaun Putnum, Earl Strickland. You can see the full shake down here and arrive at your own conclusions. http://www.azcues.com/IPT/RenoGroupStrength.html

(see the 'RenoGroups' tab for explanation of methodology used)

Power Ratings Formula

Well - the power rating is 40% match win percent + 40% game win percent + 20% break and run % of games won. The player's Advantage or Disadvantage is how his power rating compares to the group's average power rating with himself excluded. I forgot to mention that if a player has no Vegas stats (e.g. Glenn Atwell) he is considered to be "average", that is he gets the average power rating of 33.6. I think the player stats will change radically after this Reno event since it will be almost twice as significant in the total stats.

I think the qualifiers should have a higher rating. I think they should have a power rating of 38.5 based on the average of the NAO qualifiers.

The qualifiers who have requalified have an average of 42.9

38.5

Here's a re-shake using your recommended value of 38.5 for the qualifiers. Both the first method (33.6) and second method (38.5) are shown.

I was surprised that many groups have 2 qualifiers and some have 3, while others have none.
