if there's a chance to be given Germany Vs. Philippines, like mosconi cup, it great?

They do informally. Some German players come to Philippines just to play against Efren and other top players. I'm not sure if they still do come often as they have legitimate contenders already at the top level.

I remember when Alex P. won the WPC, I read many talks about challenging him just to see it he's a real deal.

All I know is the Americans best get their act together for next month:D

They better, before 10gazillion Chinese find out that they can now make money playing pool which also comes with national pride for their country.

It's a good thing that some other countries are in the radar now instead of just US and Philippines. I just hope they always have fresh supply of talents. This way pool can become a true international game where many countries playing at the top.

Being from the UK, I was pleased with our showing overall but I was not surprised some of our guys took the chance to impress.

Undoubtedly the Filipinos are the giants of pool nowadays and I desperately want to see the top American players raise their game for the coming tournaments - I have a feeling they will. I think there are some very proud and very talented Americans who would not have liked one bit that they were unrepresented in the final six at least. Let's see the sleeping giant awaken!

I really don't think any follower of pool in the US could really be surprised by it - most know just how strong pool has now become in all parts of the globe and as has been said previously, when the Taiwanese and Chinese players arrive on the scene then this thing will step up another level - immigration permitting.

The American players should organize a group called America's Pride as in a group of lions. They would come together in different parts of the country to hold mini-tournaments between themselves, maybe 6-12 players in different regions of the country. They would each put up $500 and have a round robin type of tournament with money paid to first place only. Local pool halls would put the players up in a hotel for one night's stay so that the players wouldn't incur any hotel expenses. This could possibly keep them razor sharp for international competition. And of course we mere mortals could have a chance to see them play and maybe purchase a pool lesson or two.

It's pretty clear that the players from the Phillippines as a group were the most impressive, with the players from Germany second.

What I hope is that the IPT will be successul enough long enough that the U.S. starts producing more players of that calibre and gets back to the top with countries like the Phillippines and Germany.

Didn't some pro from the board have the opinion that the Americans would be stronger than the Filipinos as 8 Ball is less suited to the filipinos and more suited to the strenghths of Americans?

I can't wait till December and the 250 players competing about the Tour Cards...

Hopefully at least one Norwegian will make it... Otherwise, I guess (expect) that Sandor Tot, Goran Mladenovic, Konstantin Stepanov, Niclas Bergendorff (if he starts shoot again), Tony Drago, Thomas Engert, Imran Majid and Christian Reimering will be among the 150 IPT-players next year...

My dark-horse to qualify is Jasmin Ouschan!

What about ...

Efren has been the dominating 8-ball pool for some time already, with recent back-to-back wins in the fujairah world 8ball championship which the Taiwanese wunderkind also won last year (playing 8ball for the first time!).
