IPT tables/cloth/pockets

Hey Linda,
I just returned from last nights IPT pre-qualifer events at The Pool Room in Marietta.
Local players in these events advised me the cloth was much slower than the normal at this room.

I was also advised, the cloth being used is on a trial bases with IPT. (info from a good source)

From my observation, I was seeing lint build up. Saw several players picking lint from the tables and tossing it away.
Lint can stop and/or change the path of a slow rolling ball.

Thanks for the heads up. I know they are experimenting with the cloth; hopefully they will find one juuuuuuussst right. How was the humidity? That could account for some of the slowness, although locals would be used to that, I guess.

All that lint build-up is distracting and can cause funny things to happen when the balls are rolling. My fear is that we could be spawning a new generation of lint-pickers like Johnny Archer.

Hey Linda,
As of last night, the lint build-up is decreasing with table play. The next JA lint-picker will be Tony Piazza, winner of last nights event.

I'm referencing the picture that Colin posted showing the 2 balls locked in the corner pocket. The cut is know at Diamond as their "Pro Cut" Pockets. You can play one slightly ahead of the other but not at the same time.

I have a 9ft Diamond Professional Model that I primarily practice on at home. When I go and play on regular cut tables at the bars and during league, my pocket percentage is usually 2-3 balls better than at home.

Tough conditions will make you better.
