Iron City split bracket...$$$$!!!!!!!

I went to this event in the fall last year. It was a good time for sure, and well run.

2 things:

1) the TD is an idiot (NOT for TD duties). He loaned Russian Kenny 5k and of course got stiffed. Then he cried about it non stop the next 6 months on FB.

2) during the Calcutta, people would look up the FargoRate of each player and write it on their own sheet. They’d bid up the players where the assigned APA style rating was out of sync with their FargoRate. I sure wish the TD simply switched to using FargoRate. I’d rather have a couple players manage to cheat the FargoRate system, rather than a TD attempt to clock 500 players from all over the country.

3) I probably wouldn’t go back because too many ratings are way out of sync. And you have to go to like 6 of his events for an adjustment, according to a prior fb post of his.

There are so many players and the vast majority will get eliminated early and their rating will be stuck in limbo whether it’s too high or too low relative to their Fargo.

Birmingham,Ala. They have their own in-house rating deal. Have 2-3/yr. Big Tyme on the Road Show is the FB page. Iron City Billiards is the spot.
I used to live in Birmingham. There is a pretty big gambling culture around there...much more than I have noticed around here in Nashville. Seems when the greyhound track shut down, folks had an itch to scratch....Heck I had a group friends that would run weekly squares on the area high school football games...thousands of $$ flowed through their hands every week...
And not a single legit pro has won much money. They have to give up so much weight It’s hard to fade it.
true, but 2-3 years ago down there, Sky and (I'm assuming) his brother in law, were playing scotch doubles upstairs at $100 a head. They had games going the entire time they were not playing in the tourney and after they both lost. No telling how much they made off of that.

Effren was there playing race to 2 for a couple bills, a game of chess for $50 (IIRC) and charging $20 to get an autographed picture. At one point I looked at the waiting list on Saturday and there was over 100 names waiting to play him a race to 2.

Make Massey was there selling raffle tickets for a cue for $20 bucks a ticket. Saturday morning the ticket roll was as big as a dinner plate...by 5 pm they were gone...

Needless to say, there was a lot of cash floating around that room. Really was neat to see and be a part of.
