Is Danny Harriman Trying to Qualify?

I haven't heard much about him in the qualifiers. I would love to see him enter the IPT, he is one of the most deserving players who are not in it. Does anyone know if he has been attending the qualifiers? I heard that he loves 8-ball, so I would look for him to do very well, and he's got a monster break also.

I talk with Danny a few times a week. Danny has played in one qualifier, he didn't do very well (he was sick), but he is planning on trying again. It is extremely difficult for some players to come up with the $2K, which represents a problem for Danny. I believe that should Danny qualify for the IPT, he will be a force to be contended with. Danny needs the support of the people that believe in him. There seems to be a misconception that Danny did not apply to be selected in the original 150 players. Danny did apply and he was not selected for whatever reason.

We are still working to see if Danny can get paid the money that is STILL owed him. Danny is a great player that is still motivated to get on the table with the best players in the world and prove that he belongs there. I have been trying to get Danny to play in the 14.1 Championships (not sure why he wasn't selected for that - look what he did at DCC) but Danny refuses to pay Charlie an entry fee based upon principle. Danny will play as long as he doesn't have to pay an entry fee (for any UPA/DP promoted event), seeing that he is still owed money.

Danny is not angry or bitter over any of this. The situation with the owed money has been very frustrating. He is owed money and nobody seems willing to take resonsibility for that (Brady, are you still out there? If so $50 a month is better than nothing and you'd be paid up by now.) In Brady's defense, every dime he sends the UPA is split 4 ways to accomodate the other players that are owed money. Danny does not care why he was not selected by the IPT, he knows he belongs there and that eventually he will get there and make his presence known.

IMO Danny is one of the genuinely nice guys and an elite all-around player. If I had the dough I would unhesitatingly stake him in anything and everything available. Once he gets his IPT card, he's gonna be a force to be reckoned with and I think any financial worries will be behind him...be nice to see.
