I tried hitting a few shots with a 12mm shaft this am
it seemed like i could get a better sight
and more accurate hit on the cue ball

is this common

Here in Germany it's quite more often, that the players use 12 mm shafts.
Besides from all the LD players, many guys who tried out my 12 mm shafts from Michael Vollmer never will get back to thicker ones. They almost robbed my shafts - and I'm happy they improved their game with them.

Try them for awhile and you won't use 13's again...

my thinking is that the long shots seem easier with the thick shafts i have been using

i once asked Billy Incardona if I would be better with thin shafts like the better players use
He told me I would probably make more errors because my stroke is inconsistent

I think I am about to experiment

Main reason too thin shafts are not the ones mostly used is the inevitable angle between cue and table surface formed many times due to placement of balls.
Most of the times cue will not be as parallel to the table as one would like it to be but elevated, increasing danger of undesired swerve when stroking, missing the target.
