Is it going to be live?

I am a real stickler about this. I dont feel that pool can succeed as a spectator sport unless it is live. Sports like Golf, Football, Hockey, Tennis, and others are all shown live and I feel they would not be nearly as popular as a spectator sport were they to be shown as pool is, months later in editted form. Pool can be presented much as Golf is, following various players and matches by filming many at the same time and using a mix of both live play and immediate playback for key shots such as golf does on those special shots that must be shown.

If the PGA only showed matches a month or two after they happend as pool has done to date I think that sport would be no better off then we are. KT supposedly knows people in TV, he is supposedly trying to make this sport mainstream. If he does not show these events live he has already doomed this tour IMO because there is no way it will ever amount to the level of appreciation of a sport like Tennis or Golf if it is not shown as it happens. We are already playing catch up in this race, not showing pool live is akin to taking a ball bat to the kneecap of this sport and then letting us try and catch up, it aint gonna happen.

Maybe Deno can fill us in. Is the IPT aiming to show live coverage and make this a sport akin to golf? Or is it going to tape matches, edit them, and show them weeks or even months after the fact?

Considering all the players worldwide who won't have access, I am sure they will figure out through BCN or some other way to broadcast over the internet. Live matches would be cool.

We are still waiting to see the 8 ball "World Championship" held in Las Vegas
originally scheduled on a delayed broadcast in September. Even that should have been live. Everything else is ppv in Vegas, that could have been even if bcn had to be involved.

Who is going to pay for that? It would take their whole annual budget to put on one broadcast they wouldn't have any money left to pay the players. It will be I am pretty sure inexpensive cable time he will purchase and it will be edited to the time slot he has paid for between commercials for naturel cures. You will probably see the same shows over and over.

The networks that cover any sport pay for the right to broadcast sporting events. You do not pay them. How do you think the Yankees got so rich?
Trudeau does pay for t.v. time but that is so he can sell his product. The networks pay then they sell advertising. Do you think the NFL pays the networks to show the super bowl. I don't think so.

Thats not what he has said, he said the reason he is doing this is to sell his products through pool shows, read his web site. He is the sponsor and will be paying all the bills. I think I am right about his plan, it's what he does. I actually see it airing at 2 am or something.

Yes he is the sponsor and if a network picks up the tour to show on t.v. whether live or taped he will merely pay them for advertising. He will be taping players and matches for a reality series also and he states , it remains to be seen if any t.v. networks pick up any of the shows. Maybe he can show them live on his golf network in the u.k. The match in Vegas is suppose to be shown in prime time on t.v. , do you think he paid for that to be done.
He will merely advertise on it when and if it is shown.

The WPBA pays ESPN big time to broadcast their events, NOT the other way around.
