> Maybe I'm wrong, but that IPhone app they were using during the TAR feed this past weekend, seemed like it was NOT right. I saw Bustamante and Shane both just blast the crap out of the balls, and only come up with 26 mph? I'd have swore the breaks I saw were much closer to 28-30.

Maybe they should mount the thing to the side of the table next time. Tommy D.

There is honestly not much difference visually between 26mph and 30 mph. Honestly, the frame rate probably has more affect on how a break looks on video considering the cueball only travels for less than 2 tenths of a second and the difference between 26mph and 30mph is only a few hundredths of a second.

Hitting the ball even at 24mph isn't an easy task. And I'll tell you what, when someone hits it at even 23mph it sounds pretty hard!

no offense but are you sure you can see/hear a difference of 2-3 mph?
Maybe they take a hair off to control whitey better? I dunno. I have heard stalev hits 'em at like 35, so maybe you're on to something, their breaks don't really look 20% slower than stalev's.

It's very hard to control the cueball on a 30mph break shot, if you're able to hit it that fast to begin with. Around 24-26mph is plenty fast enough.
