What does that mean? I don't make a dime off of CTE and I give it away for free just as Hal gave it away to me.
In fact I am losing money as I type this response. Dave Segal doesn't get a penny for teaching CTE.
In fact the only people who charge are the professional instructors who make their living off of instructing people in general. CTE is one small part of what they teach and ALL of them have been successful as instructors long before this became such a hot topic.
A CTE dvd would not exist if it weren't for the relentless anti-CTE crowd labeling the professional instructors as snake-oil salesmen and con artists. Stan only did the DVD in order to lay to rest the idea that CTE is BS. At least now there is a guide with the full steps to using CTE available to everyone.
No matter what, NO ONE is getting rich off this, not even mildly comfortable. What is happening though is that a lot of good people are getting really pissed off and fed up.
The idea that people promote CTE to "make money" is ridiculous and sickening. Hal gave it away for free and so do we. Those who have taken Hal's ideas and refined them to the point where they can teach them professionally should do so but not if that's ALL they teach. And so far this isn't the case. No one is out there teaching ONLY CTE and asking for money. At least no one that I know of and certainly not here on AZB.
The best part of your response is the fact that you incinuate that I am a "nay-sayer" as it has been labelled. Maybe I misunderstoof the concept of producing and marketing a DVD and charging a price...but to me, that seems to make money. Whether someone is "making" a profit or not is not my business. But it is not free as my bank account clearly shows from my order of the CTE/PRO ONE DVD.
I do not get on these forums to argue, promote, demote, knock, or solidify anyones methods, company, playing ability, knowledge, or personal life. But to claim something is free when I myself have paid for the knowledge in dispute is blantently false. Just because someone is not making money doesn't make it free and just because people offer it for free, doesn't mean it isn't marketed.
If I produce a DVD and then say, yeah, this thing really sucks or yeah, you could get this but its really not worth it would be negative and effectively negate something I believed in. All I meant with my statement was that it should be expected that people who produce, believe in, create, develop, or demonstrate a method would wholeheartedly promote it and clearly think it is a great product/method.
On the flip side...there will also be persons who do not believe in a method/theory to the point that they will dump every ounce of energy into countering said method. With or without proof of either argument, it will never end.
I am not for or against CTE/PRO ONE as I have not gotten my DVD yet. I do not however expect it to make me a world beater or be an end-all solution to my game. I am getting it to purely own the knowledge involved and decide for myself if I can apply it to my game.
I would be venturing into territory I do not want to be in as I am not pro or anti CTE BUT I think that the largest dispute.....you know what, nevermind...I have said my piece and you know where I stand.
I was in no way incinuating that someone was getting rich off of this system. All I am saying is that if you WANT people to believe in your system, you have to talk positively about it. In fact, I didn't mention money at all, I mentioned business and marketing. Maybe positive advertisement is a better term for it.
