I have failed at pocketing rail cut/kick shots at >= 90 degrees but I noticed you added some draw to the inside english. I will try that out.
For the long, extra-steep rail cuts, inside spin helps swerve the CB into the shot angle some (especially with more cue elevation). It also creates drag, which intensifies the effect of the sidespin (see the drag shot resource page).
I was surprised at how fast you hit the cue ball and, still, enough spin-induced throw occurred to pocket object ball. The faster speed was necessary for object ball to reach pocket.
With throw, what is important is the relative speed between the ball surfaces (see throw speed and spin effects). The CB is moving forward fast in one direction, but it is also spinning in the opposite direction faster relative to the cut (hence the throw to the left with clockwise
spin transferred to the OB). The relative sideways speed between the CB and OB surfaces at contact is much slower than you might thing.
Agreed. A carefully planned video can be much more effective than online discussion and debate. I'm glad you got something out of it.
Your video packed in several minutes what would take extensive discussions and excessive verbal abuse to learn here.
