I've been talking to this guy and he has a Paul Dayton cue with 2 shafts that he is selling and willing to trade for a Meucci. What do you guys think? Should I take the trade?

His cue: Paul Dayton
The Dayton is a 19oz cue with Mostly Ebony wood.
It has a leather wrap with two maple shafts.
The ends on the cue are white I don't know what that is made of.
It has this unicorn style joint for quick setup.
**At the end of the cue there are two small dots where lacquer came off. And my last name was put on one of the shafts but can be easily sanded off.

Here are the pictures of his cues:

My cue(the one in the center):
Meucci 95-17
Straight and True
4 points
MOP inlays
Ebony
No dot shaft.

You should do that in my oppininon. The Dayton cue is worth maybe 500 and your Meucci is nothing imposant, so you can get it for about 250 or 300 at Ebay.

So, I would do it

Thx Cuehunter

If it was a Meucci Original, I might consider keeping it. IMHO the standards on Meucci's have deteriorated incredibly in the later years. I have not personally shot with a Dayton, But I have heard nothing but great things about his sticks in my readings. without hitting the cues I would personally go for the Dayton. You have the important and unique opportunity to hit both cues tho. Most good custom makers make a more consistant cue than production, but no two hit alike from either. Shoot em each for a while or side by side and make an informed decision on your weapon. Good Luck

I would go for the Dayton. No dout in my mind. Good luck which ever way you go. Just my 2 cents.

Mason, I agree M - Originals, definitely quite different than the later mass produced stuff!

Paul Dayton makes a fine cue...its apples and oranges for sure!

As they say, to each his own!
