Is Jose helping with your game

I understand that Jose is coaching you these days. How is that going, Jose is a hell of a player in his own right.

We've been working together for a year now, and every time I visit I learn something new. It's a 2 hour drive each way from NY to Vineland, but it's worth it.

I heard some time ago that Jose was ill and noticed that he was not attending events he had in the past. Do you know why he is not competing in any events?
Thanks

Jose is still not well, he is on medication and it makes him very weak. The medicine he is taking is very strong and there is something like a 6 month cycle for it to be fully effective, so he won't be playing for a while.

Are you guys talking about Jose' Garcia???? He is one of my favorite players (I promise I won't post any anecdotes unless you ARE discussing him).

Nostroke,
Many thanks. For those posters who have never seen him play, I can highly recommend the Accu-Stats player review tape featuring him playing and reviewing a 9-ball match (I can't remember the opponent offhand). I vividly recall, however, his very intelligent and eloquent commentary. He described his preparation for a major nine ball tournament (I believe he finished second in a large Atlantic City tourney) - he just played STRAIGHT POOL to tune up his game. He is definitely a student of the game, and an unbelieveable player

I have a list of top pro's that I would like to play straight pool with; and his name is near the top of the list. I am hoping to make the trek to NJ next year for the straight pool tournament; and plan on trying for a lesson or a game with Jose'. If he is ill, my best wishes.

P.S. - If JB is working with him; how the heck is she avoiding playing straight pool (I believe her comment in Peoria was "I don't play straight pool")? He seems like a hardcore 14.1 purist.
