It is very odd and (to me ) sad how I have reacted to the post in this thread and how i have let it determine my self worth... i don't even know these people. based on a pm by rackem it really does make me feel bad about myself.
i used to thikn of myself as a serious player. Now i hope to never play again. This thread has helped just start a dep[ession that i was hopiong to get over.
People here are giving you some direct advice which are pretty good and truthful. There is not need to feel bad, or ashamed or depressed and not shooting pool.
If you were to drive a car without a front bumper and the people on a car forum told you it wasn't a good idea and it was incorrect then you should take the criticism as a positive thing.
You can drive a car without a door, bumpers, hood, and it may be okay to you for a while and nothing may have happend.
But when dirt and debris mess up your engine and you get an expensive ticket from the cops, that's just something that could have been avoided.
(I am a car guy so my analogies are so)
Similarly, not buying a $.99 cent Lepro, Elkmaster tip to avoid cue, cue ball, and cloth damage which isn't the smartest thing.
Example:
To be honest, If you were to come and play on my Simonis 860 and scratch the cloth, I would snap your non tip cue and kick you out, and probably make you pay for the damages. But that wouldn't happen because I wouldn't let a person play with inproper equipment in the first place.

and
"You must pay to play, in the game of billiards."
