Is Polyester bad for cue balls or close to phenolic resin

A $300 set of balls is not going to play better than a $50 set of balls. At one time they did...not today. The difference in price is labour, marketing, etc.

That's not remotely true. Even just looking at one variable, unintentional skids, they happen at a much much lower frequency with quality balls than they do with cheap balls. This is not a trivial difference.

Of course a good player is going to know how to adapt to playing with cheap balls, and it has no ultimate impact on who wins more games, but playing with predictable equipment is just more fun.

I ended up a really solid deal on a set of Aramith Premier phenolic resin balls from my dealer. They are a really nice set and do the job quite nicely. My dealer is a Friend also and he had a set that was cheaper called Magnum made by CL Bailey. He said he has sold those for 12 years and had zero issues with. They ran about $20 bud cheaper but I decided to go with the Aramith balls as I believe they are the best. Thanks for all the help and answers.
