I prefer a more directly interactive sport like soccer. I currently play in an over 60 league, but realistically at 61 my soccer days are limited. Pool can probably go on as long as I do to some extent.
 
I actually spent the last few years playing a game called magic the gathering on a semi professional level. The traveling became a little tough since my new little one has come along. I got to go to Hawaii, Charleston, Japan over the past year so i did enjoy it at times. Now pool is my major hobby and its alot more family friendly as i can practice at home and attend local tournaments.
 
my favorite sport has to be racquetball (sp), but I'm also known to enjoy a good match of thumb-wrestling at times. Pool is by far my favorite hobby however, next to modding my car. :)
 
My favorite sport/hobby?

For the past 5 years POOL has been #1. It's edged out golf since I struggle 24/7 with flattened discs in my neck and a rotator cuff problem. I play in maybe 2 pool tourneys per week and two 8-ball ball-in-hand leagues. I love the competition and working towards improvement.

I'm lucky to have a very understanding wife when I go overboard with my interests. Over the past 40 years I've been a bit obsessive in my string of interests while playing baseball to football to softball to scuba diving to racquetball to golf to fishing to pool. << master of none but damn good!;)
 
No doubt, I play every chance I get and when I'm not playing i'm look for some to watch on TV.

I would have to agree. I did forget about bass fishing. Charter boat fishing on lake erie sucks up here, but I sure do miss the 5:00AM bass fishing weekends on my friends stratos on lake oconee in Georgia. Sure was fun.

hahah cant say Im surprised at all by the results of this poll...I am surprised that there are more 'No's" that 'Yes, to play but not watch'

Pool is life! I dream, sleep, eat, breathe, and CRAP pool.... that sounds really painful, but you get the picture.

Maybe I'm just a strange fruit but I'm pretty much an addict. I'm gonna need an intervention pretty soon if this keeps up.

lol too funny.yes i have been there.lol.doing nothing but play pool.BUT I'LL TELL YA MY YEAR for both.
OCTOBER.......pool league starts with pool
-golf as much as possible because its sucks putting away the clubs.
NOVEMBER..........play lots of POOL,POOL,POOL.take the lead in league stats.enter tournaments when i can.
DECEMBER..........play league and its christmas so every league night its a lot of christmas cheer.:D
JANUARY...........ussually go somewhere tropical for a week,dont really care about pool this month,i dont know why.
FEBUARY......POOL runs my life.play all the time,show every team in our league WE ARE GOING TO VEGAS BABY.LOL
MARCH.......play lots pool, while reading a.z. billiards and learn everything i can about pool.
APRIL...........ITS THE BEST!!!! singles league tournament (got 3rd, 2 years ago with 192 player field,i was pretty happy)
then the BIG SHOW, team plaffoffs to see who goes to vegas.we go even if we lose but has only happened once.
MAY........VEGAS BABY,THE BIG SHOW.
singles ,we will see !!!dont matter your in vegas.lol.watch the pros(which is a hightlight)
watch my very good friend compete in pro event(her first year this year).
team event ,try and get in the money,if not WHO CARES YOUR IN VEGAS!!!!!!!!
JUNE ...........GOLF,and then pool.
JULY............GOLF,and then pool.
AUGUST.......GOLF,and then pool.
SEPTEMBER............GOLF,and then pool.
AND of course the last 4 months there is alot of beer cosumed .lol

that has been my last 5 years EXACTLY.lol.

BUT if i can find POOL on t.v. i'm glued to the t.v.
