He didn't say that 50 players can win a world title, he said that 50 players can win a $10k tourney in the Philippines where it would cost him $3k just to play in it.

I might have misunderstood since he's talking 10k however it does not cost 3 k to go to the Philippines and play in a turney , those Midwest bar boxes turneys he's referring to are a better bang for the buck in prize money but bring your wallet if your buying half back in callcuta could be over 5 k to by half yourself

Yeah 50 players

Hell yeah there is 50 players that can win a world title. Pool is to lucky of a game at a race to 9 or 11. Just take US Open for example, there is 10-20 maybe more European players that could win, 10 Taiwanese players, 10-20 Filipino players, and I would say 5 Americans or so maybe. I'm sure I'm forgetting some also. It seems like there is a new winner almost every week so many good players now. If pool was played like races to 15 or 21 best of 3 sets, with really tight pockets then you would see some dominance.

With all the other champions from around the world, there aren't 5 Americans that could win a race to 2 major event

Here is the latest world list --after Japan Open, Eurotour Treviso Open, and Make--it-Happen event in US.

I agree with Justin.

1) Who are these 2 names on the top 100 that I have never heard of?
Tomoki Mikari- he is not on your website list http://www.fargorate.com/Home/TopTen
He did not play in recent All Japan nor is he listed on Azb players database. Search shows that he played in US Open some 10 years ago.
Maximilian Lechner- Never heard of this Austrian guy. He showed up in Azb players list only in 2016 tourney

2) Do you have a rating for the recently crowned World Junior Champion, Kong De Jing?

Thanks:smile:

I wonder if Darren applied for american citizenship? He married an american(asian heritage) girl also. I've heard numerous times Shaw mentioning that hes working on his american citizenship.

Maybe next year for the MC cup, we'll have both on team USA. haha.

That would be Sweet :-)

Yes that is my error. He doesn't show up on the other lists because his games are too old and shouldn't be here either.

Lechner is a 26-year old Austrian who has been playing in Eurotour events. Some good match wins in 2016 like Chamat 9-2 in Dutch Open, Filler and Drago, both 9-7 in North Cyprus, Souquet 9-6 and Ivo Aarts 9-7 at European 9-Bal Championships, Albin 9-8, Peach 9-6, and Mats Schjente 9-3 in Treviso last Feb.

I'd say he's the European equivalent of a Josh Roberts or Billy Thorpe in the US--someone who hasn't played intercontinentally but who could pop onto the scene at any time.

Only a few unremarkable matches from a CSBA event a year ago
