Is The Bcn Coverage A Bigger Ripoff Than Kt?

My feed was fine yesterday until the hall/martinez match. Do I feel ripped off? Nope, not at all. A little frustrated at times, but not ripped off.

In fact, I think it is so worth the money, I subscribe each year even though I am at the DCC for half the event.

Well I am sure you guys got the same response I have in my e-mail tonight. I was looking forward to watching something but it does not look good for this evening! I hope tomorrow is better! Now we will see how good their customer service shall be!

"Dear Derby City Classic Viewer,

Time 8:00 PM, 1/8/07

Due to our system being in emergency repair, we are unable to broadcast
at this time. We are very sorry for your frustration and aggrevation,
and we want nothing more than to fix this problem and get on with the
remainder of the tournament, trouble free.

Once resolved, we are determined to broadcast 24 hours each day through
the end of the tournament. All matches missed and other matches will be
rebroacast in their entirity for you.

What is the issue? The mother board on our broadcast computer needed
replacement. We accomplished this by late this afternoon. However, we are
now having difficulity accessing the server with the new system, and
the repair service we used is now closed for the day.

What are we doing now, to fix the system? We are now purchasing a new
system and it's necessary components in order to get the live broadcast
back on track ASAP. Unfortunately, this may take until Tuesday morning.

Once again all matches in Chalk-Off arena will be replayed throughout
the tournament week.

Please stay tuned to BCn for any updates.

Most Sincerely

BCn"

As of right now I am not impressed with the BCN Coverage nor am I happy about it. What could they possibly do to make it right? Time will tell!

I won't say I feel ripped off, although frustrated. Much less will I say it's comparable to what KT's done (what happened to all the talk of a class lawsuit? They need to get on with it!!!!) , BUT I will say they did a significantly better job last year.

I can understand all of the frustration. It sucks not being able to see the happenings real time. I do believe, though, that BCn is working 24/7 to get the problems resolved. I've seen Rob when he's at work during pool events, and the man never gets any sleep. I'm sure Rob is just as frustrated as the viewers, and I think he will do everything in his power to get things right. JMHO, FWIW!

The service Rob provides is good, but, obviously, he lacks a quality IT person that can plan effectively for an event like this. I don't know what type of system they are running, but it sounds like it is overloaded.

Live feed is back

Live feed is back, but nothing happening at this moment.

worth the money, but overall production quality is garbage, circa 1998, these guys are about a decade behind in streaming techonology

The live feed was cut off about 5 minutes ago. When I tried to logon, it is no longer connecting to the server.

Pool is an easy sport to stream also, not many cams requires, no fast motion, etc...

BBC streamed live snooker years ago very well, last year's world championships from Manilla was amazing, I'd gladly pay 100.00 for that
type of quality

3pm is a straight pool exhibition by Archer?
What?
Are there NO one-pocket matches going on?
FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

And why are we watching guys practice till then?
What about all the replays?

No one is trying.

No one ever tries with pool.

Yep. That was top quality streaming. Shouldn't be that hard to do the same showing a pool table...

Now that's funny! LOL :D :D :D

I remember looking at that African watering hole for a spell, and everybody in my household begged me to turn it off. The sound of those African birds was getting on their nerves. I thought it was very interesting, but there wasn't very much activity going on, other than the inspect population zooming in and out of the water. :p

However, now DerekDisco is going to be at the helm of the BCn video for a spell, showing some of the other action going on in Louisville. What a GREAT idea, IMHO! Thanks, BCn! :)

LOL... just like poolplayers, those are the creatures of the night chirping for a better spot and woofing at each other.
Doug
( I can't turn it off, because as soon as I do, some BIG animal will attack and kill and eat some smaller animal )

I wasn't lucky to see anything eat anything else in the African waterhole, but I just finished watching Orcullo gobble up Corey. Only the second time I see the man play and I'm impressed with his poise.

I agree. I mean he was behind 5 to 2 in a race to 7 but he did not appear nervous at all. On the other hand, Corey completely lost his rhythm and appeared to be sulking because he missed an easy shot. I heard the announcer mention towards the end that Corey barely shook Orcullo's hand.

BTW, does anyone know if Efren is still undefeated in the 9ball division. While the Dennis/Corey match was going on, it was mentioned that Efren was leading only 6 to 5 but his opponent who they did not name was breaking.

It's funny, Corey's got a tough mental game when he finds the motivation. But he often breaks down and looks like a churl too. Some guys out there just never do that, Orcullo, case in point. Thorsten is another example. And hence the difference. As far as talent level is concerned, I don't see anyone out there ABOVE Corey.

How's Thorsten doing? And Alcano? Is Manalo not in Louisville? What about Stalev, Alex? Any Taiwanese players?

Sorry for the flood of questions...a response to any of these would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Shit !!!! I just heard on the livestream that Corey is not going to use his buy-back option!!! Why????

Alcano and Manalo did not participate in the DCC. I saw Alex Pagulayan's name twice but they said that he was a no show. I think Manalo is coming over for the Reno tournament together with Orcullo and Kiamco. On the other hand, Alcano is taking part in the Kansai games.
