is the DCC putting too much on their plate?

hi cornerman when you go to the dcc website it says info soon about the apa
tournament or something im a apa member thats why it caught my attention.
the only thing i would hate about a apa or league tourney is i love league play
but everybody knows that the sandbagging in leagues are way out of control.
i hope greg reads this! any handicapping tournaments would just give the money or trophy to some individual who is the best sandbagger!
like im a 6 in apa 7 is the highest. i know theres guys who are 4 shoot better than me. so in a handicapped tournament they would eat me alive!!
please if you do anything with apa greg please im begging dont let
race to handicapp the way! or its totally unfair.

The APA has the worst handicap system of any big league organization.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the less handicap levels defined
for players is going to generate more players within each level (more 5's, more
6's, more 7's) and that within those levels, someone will actually be a
6.1 and another a 6.9 actual level. The more definition in handicap levels,
and the method by which they are adjusted, the less sandbagging that can
go on in a league. In BCA 5 man, the handicaps go from 1 to 75, so for
each APA level there are over 8 BCA levels, i.e., a 5 in APA would equate
to a 33 through 41 level in BCA, and a 41 has to spot a 33 in BCA, or a 34, or a 35, etc..

are you talking about apa 9 ball we dont have it in my area just 8 ball.
so how would the handicapp equate in that since. vs. apa 1-7 ranking.
yeah it makes me sick about the system.

NOTICE: Some will be happy and others well? Greg/Diamond

Greg,

Also, you DO have a pass waiting for you at the AZB room (WITH playing privileges). Please stop by for at least one game (or more if your leisurely DCC schedule allows:) :) ) - we look forward to it.

DCC - Its the nuts!

Even though I haven't hit a ball in 9 months, I'm pumped about the derby. No matter how much hot water I may be in, I can't miss it! Thanks Greg

from what i can understand the straight pool is playing against yourself
with ball in hand to see who can run out more balls. if thats the case i cant
watch that.
The idea is similar to the offensive straight pool Earl posted about a couple of times, except you're playing all other people for high score instread of one opponent in race to something. It speeds things up by eliminating safety play, and no round robin or knockout rounds. Perhpas there wouldn't be time to fit in a traditional straight pool tournament.
