Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

The only reason it's not bigger is because morons like you don't understand you can buy a better game but some people have their heads stuck to far up thier butt to see the light

Too funny....you really believe this don't you.....that to get better only takes buying stuff.

Good luck with that approach.

If your playing golf with a old set of Irions and woods and a balata ball ,, and you can actualy swing a golf club no question about it newer eqiuptment will take strokes of your game ,,

If your playing with a cheap cue with a whippy shaft and I give u a good cue with a LD shaft you will pocket more balls ,,

This isn't necessarily true. Low deflection shafts do what they're supposed to do, which is reduce CB deflection - and less CB deflection means a smaller aim correction, which will improve aiming for many. So it's not "all hype" - but it's also inaccurate to say that lower CB deflection will improve everybody's game.

Lower deflection makes aiming harder for some players, and not just because they're unaccustomed to using lower deflection cues. Sometimes it's because the way they most successfully aim isn't compatible with lower deflection - for instance, using backhand English.

The two best American players were Hoppe and Mosconi. They didn't use it, Efren doesn't neither does Archer, Davenport, Wiley, & Strickland just to name a few. The two you mention are PAID to use them.

Yet, there are literally hundreds if not thousands of top amateurs who use them. Why would they use something that does not help them. It's not a this or that thing, it's what works better for your game.

I never understood the confusion that some folks just don't adjust well when using more than a tip of English, and if something allows that to forgo that part of it, or only adjust very little, then what's the harm?

I personally hate aiming at something, and then have to adjust (guess/feel/see) which way the cue ball it going to go of course before it hits the object ball. One less thing to think about for me. And I used maple my whole life until 2 years ago.

I can still shoot with maple, but my accuracy on many shots is just "better", more down the middle of the pocket, and a lot less "rattles" in the pocket. So, I switched, but I don't hold grudges against folks that don't. Heck, if you play great with a maple shaft because your brain is trained well on adjusting, Godspeed son, and shoot well.

You are correct not everybody ,, because there is a learning curve changing to a shaft that actualy hits the ball where you aim

Your knowledge of pool cues amazes me! An LD shaft IS a whippy shaft! The shaft deflects so that the cue ball does not!

When I was on the road, every time I used to walk into a bar, I used a house cue. Every time I walk out of the bar I had a pocket full of money! I played mostly people like YOU who think "money can buy a better game"! :killingme:

Many believe that because it seems like it should be true, but, at least in the range of typical pool cues, shaft flexibility doesn't have much to do with squirt - whippy shafts can squirt much more than stiff ones if their end mass is greater, and vice verse.

For instance, my shaft is very stiff (with a conical taper) but also ultra low squirt, because it has ultra low end mass.

Although that may be true, the fact remains that most manufacturers (especially Predator) lighten the end of the cue by making it more flexible...intentionally or unintentionally. Even if it you hollow out only the last 5 inches of the cue, as Predator does, it makes at least a portion of the cue "whippy". Since Predator IS the LD shaft mentioned here, I believe it is fair to say...Predator shafts are whippy! This also holds for shafts with small diameter tips. Less material = less mass. Less material also = more flexibility. A pro-taper also makes a shaft more flexible and less-deflecting compared to a conical taper by removing more material in the last 15 inches of the shaft. Straight-grain high RPI shafts = more mass. Probably the most deflecting shaft would be a straight-grain high RPI shaft with a conical taper and an ivory ferrule!

You say your shafts are "ultra low squirt" yet still with a conical taper. How was it achieved and how were they tested for squirt?

And it's the lightness that reduces squirt, not the flexibility. Flexibility is an incidental correlation, not a cause. The light stays on whenever we leave the refrigerator open, but that's not what causes the food to spoil.

P.S. And anyway, reducing the tip's width (removing material) doesn't necessarily make the shaft more flexible. That's more a function of the taper than the tip width. My 10mm hollow tip is very stiff because of its conical taper.
