Is the problem TV or the players???

There seems to be many conflicting opinions regarding the format, equipment, rules, etc. regarding televised matches. Many see this as the problem---but I disagree. I think this is the result of the problem. The problem is that TV dictates what they think is best instead of a pool players organization being in control. As an example---Do you think TV could dictate to the PGA, NFL, NBA, etc. on the rules and formats of their games?

It is extremely difficult to stand up to the powers of big business. Why? Because they have the money. Notice I didn't say an understanding of how you find the true pool champion. But on the other hand, the players have an understanding of how to find the champion but do not know how to make money.

It would be interesting to hear your opinions on how this could be resolved.

the problem is the 1 hour format for final matches on TV, sponsor problems, air time costs, hence the short format for final matches.

Golf doesn't seem to have a problem getting 3-4 blocks of time for a tournament on TV, 4 days in a row.

They even show absurd competitions on TV with no problem, like Tiddy-a-lee
winks. And you can have all the reality shows, I don't care for them.

To do Pool any justice at all, you need a 2 hour program.

The main problem I find with many of the broadcasts on espn is that they are just so damn cheesy. I like the matchroom productions on fsn they are more professional and serious IMHO.
