Is there a modern computer program to calculate ratings for league play?

I'm asking this question on behalf of the owner of a pool hall that I play pool at.

During league play, I found out that the computer program that my pool hall uses to calculate a player's rating is 18-years old and is prone to errors.

This computer program calculates ratings strictly by won/loss percentage. The program does not take into consideration the handicap or opponent's rating or the type of pool game played (8-ball, 9-ball and doubles 8-ball). If there are data-entry errors or missing information from the score sheets, it's apparently very labor-intensive to undo and correct any errors.

Can anyone recommend a more sophisticated and advanced computer program for calculating a player's rating?

Thanks.

Yeah, I have made some using microsoft Excel

If you have parameters set, as in how much you weight in a loss because of an early 8 (8ball) or a 9 on the snap for 9ball, it is relatively easy to make a program.

Edit: if you want some help creating a chart like this, pm me and i will do what i can. I sort of enjoy doing this kind of work.

If there isn't one out there, one can trivially be written AS LONG AS you can clearly define in advance ALL the scoring, weighting, and any other information that adjusts the rankings.

A program could be written that does all sorts of helpful stuff like searching for outcomes on a specific date (or range of dates), wins only, losses only, graphs of win % vs time, etc, etc.

Still, I'd guess that there's already something out there at least somewhat better than what you're currently using. If not and you feel like paying, let me know. ;)

My APA league operator uses a program. He just inputs the data and it calculates everything......but I don't know anything more than that.

The u.s.p.p.a. is probably the best. just long onto wwwusppa.com and Tony Annagoni is the director.
