Is This A Dumb Question???

I just got a new Coker cue. It has 2 shafts...One shaft has a med. moori and the cue weighs 19 0z with that shaft...The other shaft has a Triangle and the cue weighs 19.5 oz with that shaft...
I have been practicing with the lighter shaft with the Moori. I love the way it hits. I have good control, good draw. I feel real comfortable with it... It feels really good to me....I have not tried the other shaft yet...
Heres my question....Should I ?????
My other cue was 18.8 oz with a Med. Moori. So should I just stick with this shaft? Since it is close to my old cue or, try the other one.....

I doubt you will feel any large difference as long as the shafts are more ore less the same thickness.

Since you like the way the shaft with the med. moori plays and the other shaft is only .5 oz's heavier. i'd cut the triangle of the spare shat and put a med. moori on it and play with it in practice until the tip is broken in. I'd then put it in my case and use it as a spare.

Try It Out

First and foremost you need to play with the other shaft to see how you like it. How do you know that you won't like the extra weight and more forward balance of the other shaft, if you haven't even hit a ball with it yet? How do you know how you will like the harder triangle tip if you haven't tried it? If you try it and don't like it, then think about changing the tip, or adjusting the weight/balance of the cue, or whatever seems appropriate.

Whatever

Do whatever you feel like doing, after all it is your shaft. Since it already has a tip I would try it out a few nights and see which I liked better.

But it is your shaft do what you want to do.

try it?

what you might want to do is maybe one try the other shaft,2 put on a different tip, maybe a morri soft or try a tailisman.you may like it better.depending on what circumstances you ply,if for some reason you had to use your spare shaft,ya better know whats going on or it may cost way more than a new tip.jmo.let us know the outcome, later.

Thanks for the responses....I tried the other shaft and liked it. But....I like the lighter shaft with the Moori better...The 18.9 oz feels better than the 19.6 0z....I liked the Triangle tip, just not the weight of the shaft...Thanks for the suggestions.....

There are NO DUMB QUESTIONS, Just Dumb Mistakes because someone did not ask what they felt was a Dumb Question...ASK AWAY....:)

Have the Triangle shaft taken down to 12.75mm or thereabouts, and try it again. You may like it better then, although my preference would be for the moori tip. Having a slightly smaller shaft and tip can be handy when you run into different types of cueballs and cloths.

The heavier shaft with the Triangle has a weird taper. Coker had a name for it but I forgot. The end of the shaft where the joint is, is pretty large. Looks like when you have a long ballon and start to blow it up and the end blows up fat and the rest of ballon is still skinny. Just a weird look and hard to describe. If I have it taken down, the joint cap where the cue lines up with the butt will have to be redone so it matches up again...Then re-coated the last 6 or 8 inches with clear coat...And they have to have the butt so they can match it up....Don't know if I want to go thru the hassle....Also, I don't know why he did that because I did not ask for it that way...He said he would fix it but it will take time and I have to give the butt to him so I will be down without a cue for awhile....League starts in less thasn 3 weeks and I just don't know what to do...I would like to get the shaft fixed though....
If I could get it done without giving the butt I would do it, but He says he needs the butt...?????????

Is there a cue maker out there that can fix this shaft, take the back end down the last 6 to 8 inches by the joint end without messing with the cap.....The cap with the double ring lines up perfect to the butt now so if it can be worked on without messing with it that would be perfect.....Anyone???? It would have to be clear coated again so can it be done and still line up without having the butt there??? Can the end be measured with a micometer and then be redone again if the cap is taken down and recoated??? Any suggestions....
