is this a real Meucci?

saw this auction on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-VINTAG...185?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a231b5ca9
I think it's a fake anyone ever seen this cue before in the Meucci line?
thanks!

It's a real one. Just don't have it refinished. If you do, all the numbers on the balls will have to be redone freehand.

I'll see if I can look up the model number.

In the 3rd edition Blue Book, pg. 525 Meucci Model 97-23

Original retail in 1999 was $750.

And here----------------

This is one I've never had and there are very few I didn't have.

Yes indeed it is real, the reason the number will have to be redone/free handed back is because Bob Meucci hand wrote each and every one of them on every single model of that cue made!

I'm not sure I think that cue is good looking, but it is for sure an inventive idea. Is all that work (outside of the numbers) inlaid?

Thanks

Kevin

Doing these kind of inlays is not easy, it is a challenge, however Bob Meucci has it down to a simple art!

That is an older model and came out and was discoutinued befor the black dot shaft was introduced. So the shaft is not original, at least that is what i think.

Yes...it is in the description. The original shaft would probably have a black collar with a thin green ring.

Gotcha, never read the ebay description. Just looked at the pics. The older pre dot shafts are better (i think). Never cared for the new shafts.
