It's an absolutely amazing break, and hilarious pose by Jeff (I actually kind of feel dirty watching him coax the ball into the pocket), but both his feet are clearly off the ground at one point in the slow-motion replay.

I'm pretty sure the "spirit" of the one-foot-on-the-ground rule is to prevent people putting too much weight on the table, but I'm pretty sure this break violates the letter of the rule.

what's up man....

the shot does not appear to be a foul to me, as his feet went airborn after striking whitey.

World Standardized Rules

3.13 FOOT ON FLOOR

Player must have at least one foot in contact with the floor at the moment the cue tip contacts the cue ball, or the shot is a foul. Foot attire must be normal in regard to size, shape and manner in which it is worn.
Looked to me like his foot was on the floor when he contacted the cue ball.

I wonder if "normal" foot attire includes platform shoes? I'll bet if not for this rule Earl would already be known for his toe extenders.

If a man broke with both feet off the floor against me....
..I would not complain.

I think power comes from the feet touching something solid....
..a knockout punch comes from the mat
..a golfer's distance comes from his feet also

..his left foot shifted around impact but I think it was touching the
floor when he hit whitey

Looks to me, too, that there was a foot touching the ground when he struck the cue ball. Sure does look silly though.

How is this even a question? The footage at 0:48 shows in slow motion the hit. The cueball is gone a full second or two before his other foot leaves the ground.
