It's a little sacrilegious Rod, but not illegal. I have put a Mottey shaft and a Joss shaft on mine
a time or two, but don't tell anybody........oh wait, damn I just did.
 
Same line of thought for me, but I was fortunate to pick up a third matching szam shaft and to boot at my preferred 12.75mm. If not, I would be "quietly" doing exactly what you're doing. :)

I am also guilty of the same. The last thing I want to do is turn down one of Gus' shafts to my preferred 12mm. Fortunately, OB classic pro has just the temporary ticket I need. Cue plays kick ass either way tho...

I just make sure the is no visible oB logo when I do ;)
 
I had a monster ebony scruggs I bought and the gentlemen I bought it from was kind of upset that I didn't play with a predator shaft and that I was ruining the value. My answer was why would I want to spend that kind of money for a scruggs AND NOT PLAY WITH SCRUGGS. lol Hell I could have spent 3 grand less if I just wanted to play with a predator. to each his own man
