Is this for real?

I'd say so, but I'm don't think it will go for the same price as a real shaft. I've seen a couple of these in various forms. It is pretty funny to watch.

Yes they are for real. I cant say that I have seen one made by Buss, but I have seen a shaft like this a guy used to carry with him. He used to bet people they couldnt make a spot shot and draw the cueball to the side rail. They couldnt :D

What's that shit about he reserves the right to end the auction early if it's not going for as much as he wants? Isn't that expressly against eBay policy?

YES! I saw that "disclaimer" in ALL of his auctions. He has a cue or two that I might otherwise bid on, until I read that BS line.

They are "no reserve" auctions but he has the right not to accept the deal if the money isnt' high enough ? That sounds like a reserve to me...

I came across this on eBay and didn't know what to think, so I thought I would share.

I have seen and played with shafts like this made by Jim, except it's not hollowed out it has a metal rod in the tip. That adds end mass and causes tons of squirt, it's easy to make a ball with no english, but hit the cueball off center and you're in trouble. As far as the auction and seller goes I think E-bay is now filled up with dishonest creeps, I wouldn't buy from him.

Trick shaft or shafted?

If you're interested in the shaft you could contact the guy. If he's legit he shouldn't have a problem giving you a phone # or some verified contact. You could pay with a cashier's check or something trackable as well to help protect yourself. The auction doesn't sound dishonest.. just greedy. :)
