Is this really Matchroom's regular price?

Jam,
I have a guess on why this is the way it is and all I can say is (if I am right) then I understand why it has/had to be this way. I will answer with a question. Would you want to stake a business deal based on the likes or dislikes of this demographic or would you rather provide content to a streaming platform that needs diverse content for its subscribership who might be excited about watching Pool, because they've not seen a lot of of it?

I agree DAZN dropping the ball doesn't help a growing contingency of American viewers at all. In fact its discouraging it. If I had known the price for their live streaming I would have been watching their events for a long time now. Finding out the price is surprising to me yet its also almost embarrassing. Why didn't I know this before? I don't see the information on their website so to me it appears they have been trying to send those viewers to DAZN but something is broken and badly. I hope it doesn't mean Matchroom isn't getting paid.

Content sales is driving what they do and when you see a huge venue like the Copper Box, with hanging lights, 3 arenas and 21 other tables that is a lot to pay for. What Matchroom does is not simple by any means but its all a testament to the thoughtful arrangement of the business. I am sure they will respond to these problems the best they can. I would guess the problem is at DAZN and this is not inspiring.
In my opinion, DAZN has been contributing to lessen the popularity of pool by its crappy coverage and lack of advertising or advanced notice. If this is Matchroom's vision, then, by golly, more power to them if they want DAZN to broadcast their events in USA and elsewhere.

But some of us diehard pool enthusiasts are starting to not watch pool at all when it's on DAZN. That's not a good thing if you want to increase the viewership. Word of mouth does go a long way. If we pool fans don't want to watch it, do you think my Uncle Chester and Aunt Dorothy are going to get excited about pool on DAZN? Pool is a sinking ship on DAZN. Just my opinion, of course. ;)

The viewership has shrunk to the point of diehards, and maybe turning some off. This is why pool is no longer on cable tv, and only available on streaming level. For those complaining why cornhole is on tv, its because there are more viewers than pool. By charging for content at this stage, its my opinion you won't see much if any growth in viewership. Matchroom is attempting to recoup their costs upfront by charging for streams, and admission to watch. Creating high quality productions like this isn't cheap. This isn't some guy with OBS with a Logitech webcam.

To attract the Uncle Chester and Aunt Dorothy out there, the content has to be free in order to catch their attention, and develop a following. This is the proven model for network tv and many non-premium cable channels.

The pool market is now a digital pool market serving masses in wide areas and we've had decades of children not being introduced to the sport in the US. This was a mistake but was a consequence of a changing market. Pool went in with alcohol where children weren't going to be going for the most part. Until we address our grassroots issues I'm guessing we will get more of the same.

There are 4 men US players in the 1-50 on the fargorate list. There are 10 more in the 50-100 section.

I have to wonder if these other countries have better grassroots for pool? Do they have billiard clubs or public pool rooms or bars?
