If you are threading pins into wood, phenolic or plastics the anodizing will be fine. I wouldn't thread into brass or any other metal though. I have been using anodized pin into wood for years with no issues. Having said that where I get my anodizing done, they have different options. Not all anodizing wears the same. Good anodizing leaves a hardened surface the colour is just an added bonus.Those colored pins are anodized aluminum. Uni-Loc did that at first and then they had pins out there with the color coming off after months of play, so they abandoned that method. I suspect these pin makers will have the same experience down the road.
