Hi Gang,
Moving daughter up to Ithica and will be there a few days.
Is there any decent places I can go to fore a game or two?
Appreciate any suggestions.

The only hall that I know of anywhere near Ithaca is The 77 Club, but the last time I was there, there wasn't much business going on. You could head up towards Syracuse. There are 2 good rooms there. Premium Billiards is a great place. They have around 10 Super Crowns and I believe 10 Diamond bar boxes. They also have 2 billiards tables as well. The other hall has APA LTC's going on today and tomorrow. They will be unbelievably busy.

Ithaca has few choices.

Cornell has a small room with 6 tables. It's poorly lit and they often use it for storage, especially over the summer so sometimes there are only four tables available... not to worry, though, it's usually empty.

Ithaca College has a "game room" with 5 or 6 Gold Crowns. It's better lit and free even for non-students.

Uncle Joe's Sports Bar has three barboxes. This is the main location for APA and NAPA leagues.

The Rhine House bar has two squirrelly barboxes and free pool on Sundays.

The 77 Club is in Cortland, approx 30 minutes out of Ithaca.

Your other options are Binghamton, Elmira, or Syracuse, all ~60 minutes away (though Elmira's about 40).

Its been a year since I was at Cornell's room but it was nice when I was there last. I have three kids there and I was allowed in, I am not sure if it is just for students or not.

It's not just for students, you just need to give them a driver's license. Maybe it's just your picture but it looks better lit than the last time I was there.

To the OP: If it isn't obvious, I live in the Ithaca area. Depending on when you're coming we could meet up and play. I've got some travel plans this summer so I may not be around.

I had a pic of the inside also but it is MIA, you are correct that it is not a busy place. I was in town this week for my oldest son's graduation. I will be back there quite often in the next few years for more of the same.

I did find a bar box in college town at a restaurant called "On the 9". My Boys said there is a bar there that the Graduate students hang out at that sports two tables.

I don't spend a lot of (well... any) time in collegetown. Do you mean "The Nines"? It used to be a firehouse.

There are a lot of bar tables in Ithaca, just no "proper" poolroom; it closed before I moved here. The story I heard was that the owner wanted to retire and tried to sell it but no one bought it.
