I just recently purchased my first 2x4 It's George case, a real one, not a Brunswick. I went to put in a third shaft and it will not go! I have tried everything. It's not an abnormal shaft, standard 13mm playing shaft. I have tried everything I know of, and it will not fit. I pulled the other shafts out and made sure the hole was clear, everything was fine, but when I go to put in more than 2, it just flat out won't fit!

What gives? These things hold more than 2 shafts or what?

Are you staggering the shafts? One tip up, one tip down...........if you put them all facing the same way they won't fit.

Do one of the following:

-joint end in first, w/ shaft tips facing up....this is ideal since you wont get tip chalk all over the inside of the case.

or

- butt end in first, w/ shaft tips facing down.

Either way helps maximize the room in your case.

If you put the butts in joint first and the shafts with the tips up they should fit fine.....mine do. Dave

It's George is very compact ... to truly fit 2 x 4 into the case is a lot of work, IMHO. 2 x 3, I've never had any issue.

hehe. I had to figure this out for myself earlier this year. I ended up putting the butts in joint-first (use JP's!) to help everything fit, too.

edit: gosh, 3 replies while i typed. well, i'll leave it anyway :D

Another thing you have to do because of the tight fit is put the shafts in first.

I don't think that case will work for you man!....you better send it to me!:D

I have one in ostritch skin, I also had one in red eel skin, but some scumbag stole my car with my case in it!

One George case met it's untimely demise in the early 90's when it decided to jump off the roof of my car. Unbeknownst to me I had left it on the roof and drove off and when I took the first corner it slid off and bit the concrete.

It saved the cues, but when doing so it sacrificed it's own life and had to be put down.
