It's Over, Rover

I was just watching ESPN where they were showing the match between Bustamante and Reyes. You were playing Alex on a near table and had just missed the 9 on a match winner after bragging that it was a wrap. (I forget the words you used).

Then ESPN switched to your table to cover the last game. And with two balls left you were still the showman saying, "It's over - rover". I guess dogging the 9 in the other match had no effect on you.

First row had Buddy Hall who was working on his Limb Saver laugh. He was all smiles. That's probably where he developed it so you should get some of his royalties.

That was the first time I saw you play but it looks like you are worth the price of admission. For pure entertainment I would like to see a match between you and Scotty Townsend. You guys would have everyone rolling in the aisles.

Jake, me and Scotty are good friends. We did gamble in New Orleans. I was giving him the last two, 4 dimes a set, 9 ahead, and we both put up for two sets and agreed to play until we dropped. Somebody had to win both sets to get the dust. It went back and forth for a little while. In fact, Scotty had me seven games loser the first set. I happened to come back and get the score even, and then it was all me from there.

That wasn't the only time me and Scotty have played, but this was the first time for this kind of money. He has always been a champion bar player. I've more or less tried to stay away from him on a bar box, not saying I could beat him or I couldn't beat him, but we ended up matching up on the 4-1/2 by 9 where I thought I had a better chance.

I love Scotty like a brother and have total respect for his game. And anything he ever needed in life, I will be there for him.

I have watched Scotty play a few times and would expect him to get a spot from you, but the last two? Tells me that you are really, really good. And it looks like he never wears down and plays better as the games go on.
