It's the Tip

Here is the website, there is definately a difference in the Predator Blak VS the Predator Sneaky Petes

FWIW, I owned a Predator 5K3 which employs the same C4 technology in the butt as the Blak series. I also own their lowest priced sneaky pete. The sneaky pete just has a really dull hit to it. Kinda gets into your head a bit. In terms of feel of hit, the 5K3 was much better. But the shafts played identical. My shots were consistently off with both cues. :D This is probably not the cues fault(rather the shooters fault), but I just prefer a solid maple shaft. I like the hit better, I seem to play more consistent with one... I think it is a matter of confidence in your equipment. I now shoot with a standard Bob Frey ebony SP and love it to death. Couldn't ask for a better playing cue. I like wrapless cues, and love the look of quality ebony. I also like my cues to be as simple looking as possible. So for me, the Frey fits all my criteria for a great cue for me... emphasis on the "for me" part.

I'd love to have a beautiful high end scruggs or something, but it is just out of my budget range. And if I spent a few grand on a cue, I wouldn't want to play with it out fear of damaging it and accumulating wear. If I had the money I would invest in higher end cues, sit on them to let the value appreciate and move them when the selling market is better. But, unfortunately I'm not in the position to do that at this time... so I'm happy shooting with my Frey. To each their own...
