....FYI...I'm on the road at the moment, and will be home in about a week. When I return, the next cue in my collection will be posted for sale. It's probably gonna be my Joss. 4 Ebony points and 3 veneers into gorgeous curley maple. Rambow/Hoppe style buttsleeve, black linen wrap. Only 1 shaft...but it's got an Ivory ferrule. Great shooter, and it's gonna go CHEAP!!! Retail on that cue is 600 (plus another 75 or so for the ivory)....and I'm selling it for less than HALF that with shipping!

STAY TUNED!

Rat

Did you ever post this Joss?

Chris,

I'm sorry to report...my check DIDN'T bounce!!! :)

I just got the cue today...it looks and feels GREAT! I can't wait to take it out for a spin on the tables (but it'll have to wait a couple weeks... :( )

I tried to PM Kevin...but his PM box is full.

ANYBODY KNOW WHAT KIND OF FINISH HE USES ON HIS CUES??? It really feels great....but I'm not certain what it is or how to properly care for it. It's smoothe and solid...but it's almost as though you can feel the woodgrain....but not quite like the Tung Oil cues I've had/seen....but kinda.....but not really...??? :)

Any info (from Kevin or from someone that has a Varney) would be appreciated.

Glad you like it sir. Wait until you play with it...then you'll LOVE it!!! The finish is my "secret" satin lacquer. Most players like the wood feel on their sneaky style cues. Took me a while to come up with this finish. I feel its similar to what Jerry used on the very early satin SW's. I just wax mine occasionally as I do my shafts with a good wood paste wax. The older the cue gets...the better it looks.
Enjoy!!!

Excellent. Thanks a ton, Kevin. Looking forward to playing some straight pool with it (my new favorite game). Only 13 more days to go, before I can take it out!!!

Kind regards,

Mark
