I was watching one episode of a new 4 part series on one of the HD channels about the Mekong river. This one was about a lake in Cambodia that fills up and drains with the coming and going of the monsoon season. Most of the money made by the people who live on the lake comes from raising crocodiles. Needless to say, they aren't very rich as demand for the crocs has gone down.
Anyway, they were showing how most of the people lived on boats and they cut to what appeared to be the local YMCA boat where a group of kids were shooting pool. At first, I wasn't paying much attention until I noticed what appeared to be a large logo or pad of some sort in the middle of the table just below the head string. I hit rewind and looked again. It was actually a huge hole in the cloth about a foot and a half long and 6-8 inches wide. I looked closer and the rail cloth was just barely hanging on by the feather strips. There was no cloth covering the nose of the cushion anywhere on the table. There also appeared to be notches in the nose of the rubber where the rubber must have dried and chunks had broken off. There were also many more smaller holes in the bed cloth and large wavy sections where the cloth was rippled. All in all, it looked like the worst table I've ever seen being used. Made me count my blessings for sure. The balls actually resembled what you see in most bars but since not all of them were on the table it was hard to tell how many had been jumped overboard.
