I have been a pool player for over 35 years. I have been a member of this forum for over 10 years. And while i in no way qualify as one of the most active members i have always made the effort to contribute positively in my posts and be respectful of the members and the vast knowledge that is to gained thru this forum.
2017 is my year to restart my life as i knew my father was going to die this year from his health problems. And he did last month. And i am making the effort to move my past photography career into video and film making this year. Thus my attending classes and getting certified thru my local public access station so i can learn the craft and gain experience for my new life and new career.
And as i go down this new life road i figure i might as well start by pursuing ideas and topics for my documentary projects that come from my heart. And pool playing, and cue collecting, and the dream of becoming a cuemaker sometime in my life have been a big part of my life and my heart. So i dont take too kindly to anyone suggesting that my agenda is negative. I am not pursuing this to hurt the game i love. Im coming at this with the idea of trying to address the ivory issue to inform the public and to help protect the interests of pool players, cue buyers and cue makers.
And out of respect for the knowledge base that is present in this forum i thought it may be worthwhile to seek some opinions and suggested questions that could guide the production effort. So far i have not seen much in the replies that help in that regard. Which if this forum is to be a representative of the general attitude of pool players everywhere, then i can assume that there is not much support or respect for the idea of what i am trying to produce for the benefit of the pool community.
And i can just move on to the other ideas i have for my first documentary projects and put this idea on the back burner for later consideration. If ever.
