The keys are usually wooden core with ivory laminating around the edges/outer.
Many factors come into play....

Before the ban they used to be for sale on ebay all the time. They were cheap you got a whole bag of them for a few dollars. I think mostly scrimshaw guys bought them.

Piano key ivory would be a great inlay for your cue....
....if you were playing for a G-note

I've heard of older style cue makers using it.I would love to have some to try on cues and pocket knife handles .please let me know what you plan on doing with it,
Thanks Jerry2

I have an old standup piano here in League City, Texas that has ivory keys. If anyone wants them you can have them for free. The only thing I require is that you must take the entire piano with you. I believe the black keys are ebony wood. From the serial number, it was manufactured in 1938 by Worlitzer. Here's a picture of the keys. Let me know.

Ive moved one piano with one other guy and that was the first and last time that I ever get into that again. I threw my back out and pulled my groin, but it got moved from one house to another. It will rot where it sits now. Good luck with your give away.
