Does anyone know the market value of this Ivory SW cue? I am considering buying it but not sure if the asking price is reasonable. It comes with 3 shafts and is in mint condition. Thanks

Ok, SW experts! No clue, but will take a stab at the value, tell me how how far of you think I am...3 shafts...mint...ivory points and butt collar....

$6K?

Yally :)

I'd value @ 9 to 12.

Prolly made prior to J's untimely/tragic passing. IIRC SW did not mfg. many,if any, IV pt'd 4-arms....

Call Roy Mallot

He is InDYQ.com and see what he would be a buyer at. He will probably be close to top dollar because that cue won't get sold this decade if ever!
I almost forgot PM me a price on the Alves forearm cue and the Tad! Also the cases wrer sold no problem and you were most curtious-any time!
Thank you kindly!
Nick :)

I was asked this same question this week, from a different person.. I know one sold about 5 years ago for around the $5500 price.. I believe it was around a 1999 cue.. I would think it would be up in the $8k-$9k range now...

A friend of mine had me put his on ebay about 4 years ago and it topped out round $5800. It was made around 1990 for Bobby Hunter I believe. It had plain ivory trim rings. My guess is that cue is worth at least $6k.

Hi buddy,

This cue should be someone located in Taiwan.:D

10~12K I guess but do you like this kind of fancy SW ?? You can buy fancy design SW than this 6 points ivory...(My suggestion)

Balance

i only think it'll be around 2500... so i'll send ya a MO right away??? :-)

in all seriousness- 7-9k probably would not be out of the ballpark.... nice looking cue and it has ivory rings all the way up! NICE NICE!

I know a good player who owned this cue and i beleive he paid in the area of 6-9 for the cue originally....:)

so Northstar-when you buy this i guess you're gonna have to sell me your wrapless SW ??? :-)

As far as I know in Taiwan there're 2 ivory prong SW cue identical to this one in the pix, one dated "00" and the other is "03" (I might be wrong on the "03" and if so correct me:) ), I once played the "00" one and to tell you guys candidly that it plays just like other ebony nose SW cues, nothing worse and nothing better ... I know cuz by the time I was also playing another ebony SW cue and compared both cues side by side, its just the rarity thing that boost up the price.

Cue was once sold at around 6k, and if I were the buyer I wouldn't pay more than a cent at that price, that's a ceiling to me;) ...well, my point is if one has 6k handy or even more budget, invest them in a fancy SW cue which is truely more collectable, after all, the cue is a 6 pointer anyhow, and the buyer also have to take into account that there's a risk the cue might be confesticated by US custom during the shipping , which indeed occured couple times:(

Thanks for all you guys invaluable inputs. I was wondering exactly the same, whether these ivory points worth two extra SW cues? That's some expensive ivory :)

After reading the "Minconceptions SW or Kersenbrock" thread, I think it might be a wrapless Kersenbrock  ;)

Ivory sw cue

I live in BOSTON, i'm not sure if that is the same cue that i used to own. It has only 2 shafts, i bought it brand new from MARK RANSON in QUINCY for $4500 originally and i played with it, played good but it is a little bit heavy for me and i sold it through a trade. That was the biggest mistake that i have ever made in my life and even today i still mad about my self. The one in CHADY WEB SITE, i believed is the one that i used to owned. What a dump ass i was...............

before john wright passed he sold one for a friend of mine to the phillipeans for close to $20,000,that cue had scrimshaw in the butt and points though
