I have seen ivory joints but all of them are flat face joints, can an ivory joint be unilock?

I asked as a I have Predator Vantage shaft with a unilock joint and will have cue made and the ivory joint is an option.

Does the ivory need to be taken from the center of the tusk or can the ivory joint be taken from the side and make two joints out of one piece of ivory?

Note: lets not go into the legalities of shipping or selling ivory, the cue maker is local to me and there would be no selling involved.

I can be done ..ivory will have to be lined with phenolic.
Ivory has to be cut parallel to the grain.
Or you can forget about ivory and use buckhorn.

This Cantando is a Ivory joint with a unilock.

I like them for my own use but not for customer's.
Too scared they'd lock up.

Yes.
2 things important.
1- Uni loc joints are not an interference fit which means the head of the brass insert doesn't touch the inner wall of the joint.
2- That the uni loc joint screw is installed properly with THE RIGHT EPOXY. If the joint screw should loosen and the threads come out past the joint, the shaft won't sit properly and cause the joint to crack. Doesn't matter if it's Ivory, Elforyn, phenolic etc etc.

As far as a bushing inside the pilot. The sky is the limit. The Individual Cue maker will decide.
