Ok...please dont hammer me with how stupid of an idea this might sound...just think about it. I was wondering if anybody (cue makers) have thought about the idea of DYING ivory. It could be made into different shades of gray to black..or any other color or stain for that matter. It's still gonna be ivory in the cue...so what would it hurt ? I think it could open up a whole new realm of colors, variations, and contrasts. Dunno...what do you think ?

John Robinson has been doing it for years

I think you are a sick puppy!

A 502 in a Chris Craft?

Ivory is often bleached or stained now. No real reason not to tint it a bit. If you get to the point that people can't tell it is ivory then there is not much sense using ivory just for the cachet.

The ivory would still have grain to it. And the ivory in the cue would still make the cue more valuable. I'm pictureing a darker cue...maybe some silver in it...some regular ivory inlays...maybe an 8 pointer..and maybe a darker grayish stained ivory joint. Just something a little different.

How about alternating inlays of plain ivory (diamonds for example) and some lightly colored ones. Maybe a ruby color..or sorta like malachite, but with real ivory. Its just a thought.
