J&J Jump Break cue tip

Does anyone know what kind of tip comes on a J&J Jump/Break cue and where you can buy one?

I recently purchased a J&J Jump/Break cue and it's a heck of a cue for the money. I'd been breaking with a custom Jump/Break cue that only had a phenolic ferrule with out a tip on it and I didn't have much control on a jump shot. It was poke and hope when I jumped a ball. I saw a seller in the for sale section selling the J&J J/B cues for a good price and I thought i'd try one and if I didn't like it I could sell it and get my money back I hoped.

The J&J J/B cue has what looks like a phenolic tip on a black ferrule and my break is close to my other cue, but I can jump the ball much easier and I actually have some control with this cue. I'm hoping someone on the forum might know where you could buy a couple of the tips that come on the J&J J/B cues.

I was under the impression that J&J had developed a proprietary tip. I've seen it called the Magic jump tip, but I'm not sure if that's the official name. Don't know if they sell those separately or not. You might be able to buy it directly from J&J or through a dealer on here. I know Erik Lee (dooziexx) is a dealer, and I believe Troy (Koinnkid) is as well. I've dealt with both of them and would recommend them both highly.

Sounds like you might be looking for just replacement tips, but if you wanted a second shaft for that jump/break, I believe they go for $30 retail. By the time it's all said and done, it might be easier and about the same price to just buy the spare shaft. Hope that helps.

If you're looking for tips for your custom jump/break, you might try some White Diamond tips.

The feedback I've seen on those has been pretty good...

I own one and yeah.. this is the best cue value for the money out there. I got a jump/break palmwood for around $40+ on e-bay a year ago. The 14mm shaft came with a phenolic tip and I did not like the hit, feel, sound. I changed the tip for a hard leather talisman bk tip and have been very happy with the increased control. The tip is wearing and I am thinking about getting the white diamond. PS, I use this cue as a shooter for BCA league and can break it down for those crowded corners on those crowded bar boxes.

I've tried White Diamond tips on my Jump/Break cue (not my J&J cue) and I didn't care for them, but other players like them a lot. They didn't feel good to me though.......

The tip is the "Magic phenolic"

Contact J&J at jjcue.com. They are really good with replying to people's emails and such.

I'll second the idea that the J&J is an excellent jumper. I love the J&J...I can jump VERY accurately with it. I can't imagine ever changing jumpers.

As far as breaking, I prefer my BK2...which is an unfair comparison given the drastic price difference.
