Jacking up a table question

Assume the following...

* 3 piece slate table.
* One end of the table is lifted at one time from under both legs simlutaneously.
* The lift height is only a few inches off the floor.
* Then the other end of the table is lifted similar to first end.
* The lifts would be slow and gentle and not very high (1-2 inches).

Will the slate seams be a problem? ie will they crack etc? Will the alignment stay the same with these lifts? The idea is to lift the table one end at a time onto a roller gadget with soft wheels...then roll it across a smooth flat concrete floor.

Would one table type or manufacture be better for this than another? Suggest table please. 9ft. Company and model. I really dont want to buy a new table...would probably wait for a deal on craigs list.

TIA

If you're going to lift, whenever possible, lift from the sides to minimize the effect on the seams. There's always a chance of popping the seams when you lift the table.

My.02...have you ever tried those gliders they sell on TV? Those things actually do work!!! (On carpet LOL)

Sorry, don't mean to speak over you buddy, but lifting from the sides will actually flex the frame of the table easier, resulting in popping the seams than lifting from the ends. Lifting from the ends is done much easier from the center of the frame, which is almost the same support the legs give...as in not draping the frame from the center of the sides.
