Jacoby Kielwood Shaft Tenon

Hello,
I just wonder what is the tenon size or maybe the tenon‘s thread size of a Jacoby Kielwood Shaft ( actual production 2024)?
I‘m not in the US and thinking of doing a ferrule change. Therefore I have to find the right way to work on it here.
Please let me know what you have seen or maybe measured.

Thanks

I couldn't say since I've not had one apart, but it's likely a bored out shaft with a very thin walled capped ferrule.
Threads and low deflection do not go together well at all.

Thank you for attention. As I bought a new shaft from Jacoby Cues I checked out what I‘ll get. So Hydex 202, 5/8‘‘ length and 12,75 mm was known to me. What I do not know is which size is the tenon and the thread size. I don’t have the machine to work on ferrule rods, etc. I try to find out which work will have to be done if I go to change to another ferrule material. Is the original Hydex ferrule capped or uncapped ? Having all the data makes it easy to plan and decide the efforts.

No, I guess I should ask Jacoby Cues. But the reason asking the forum here is:
If there is someone who has been working on a Jacoby Kielwood shaft‘s ferrule.

I‘m considering a ferrule change or replacement and maybe cut off ~0.25‘‘.

If i had to guess it might be capped like their hybrid shafts. If you dont have the machinery to do this work why worry. Give it to your cue repair guy and have him change it.

What if they’re not all standard?

Hello again and thanks for all comments.
I‘m still thinking about because the ordered spare shaft isn‘t ready. So one day I took a 1000 lumen torch an made a picture of the ferrule. It looks interesting.

I saw a picture somewhere, and it looked to be capped. At the cost of redoing it for a 1/4", you would have been money ahead by ordering direct from Jacoby and asking that it be a 1/4" shorter. They would have charged you slightly more, but it would have been slight compared to having someone do it after. The only downfall is it adds apx 6 weeks to your order from them as it gets put in their normal production timing.
I have ordered direct through them for some of my Ultra shafts where I wanted changes, and it adds 4-6 weeks. Interesting that under their Ultra signature on the shaft, it also is marked custom then.

Question about ferrules and weight…..is Juma heavier than wood? Would a 1” ferrule on a 29” shaft made it heavier than a 1/2” ferrule version most KW shaft makers use? I am trying to get a KW shaft to weigh more naturally (tip, ferrule & shaft only). I’m willing to make the shaft 29 1/2” but don’t really want it any longer to add weight. I want a 12.75 mm pro taper shaft that weighs 4 ozs. or heavier but haven’t found any cue maker that says they can build the shaft for me or how close they can come with the shaft weight I want. I do not want to artificially add weight by using any insert and haven’t found anyone yet.

I have a Jacoby Kielwood Shaft 5/16x14 with piloted insert, 29,66’ / 12,75 with weight of 114 gr. The taper is very long so the shaft has less volume than a standard 12-14’ taper shaft. Kielwood is known to be lighter (-30%) than natural maple. It is to be specified from piece to piece and batch to batch. Talk to Jacoby Cues maybe they can help you. I think they can.
Juma is heavier than most of average maple. Hydex and Tomahawk is a little lighter than Juma.
Those things easy get into a fancy journey.
