Analytical analysis
Although I have never owned either, I have hit with several that friends of mine owned. One friend, in particular, owns Schon's and is a representative of Jacoby cues. Both hit well, but I like the overall feel of Schons. I have seen some great looking cues by Jacoby, but when you get into the higher dollar ranges, the Schons inlays and overall appearance are more pleasing to the eye, IMO, especially the older Schons.
Now, not to downplay Jacoby's though because they are very nice cues, but I have a slight problem with how they are balanced, always feeling like they need to be more forward balanced, because I feel the weight of them in the upper part of the wrap when I would prefer to feel it up higher in the forearm and joint area, but that is just me.
Both hit well, but I always feel like the hit on the Jacoby is with a thinner shaft than with the Schon.
