After all the success she has had this year could... could she be the next Allison Fisher....and poster girl of the WPBA? She seems to have as different type of game then the majority of the women players out there. Here style of play reminds me more of something you would see in most male players. I think she can really sell image well, on par or better than what Jeanette Lee has done.

just curious if she will her name will ever be commonplace when you ask, "who are some great women pool players?"......

mods, delete this thread if this has already been discussed ad infinitum

Jasmin is a great, photogenic player, so she may turn out to be just that. I read somewhere that gentlemen prefer blondes. Nonetheless, she'll have to work hard for her throne, as Ga Young Kim and Xiaoting Pan are also rising twenty somethings and both are very attractive. Established stars Kelly Fisher, Allison Fisher and Karen Corr, the three snooker suoerstars, will make all three of these rising stars work hard for their titles, so we'll see how it plays out.

With her break and those races to 7 semis and finals, she will be a force for years.

when was the last time Kelly won?

I dont know that she desires to follow the flashy high profile of Jeanette. In fact Id bet she wont. Regardless, she can play. Her record in the mens World Straight Pool Champonships alone the last 3 years speaks loudly to that fact.

Last month, in Oregon. Her second title of the year.

That's right , Kelly Fisher won the WPBA Pacific Coast Classic last month in Oregon and also won the US Open this summer, meaning she has won two of the last three WPBA events.

With all due respect to Jeanette Lee, Jasmin doesn't play in high heels. She takes the approach that this is a sport, which it definately is, and she focuses on the game like an athlete does. That is why she is winning so much and why she is so fun to watch... IMO

I agree as one of her stated goals is to challenge the best male players and she bypassed the last WPBA tournament to play against male players
and she defeated Thomas Engert a top male Euro player in that event.

I don't think Allison has been trumped quite yet with Kelly a close 2nd. Jasmin is going to have to dominate the women's pool to do that. In the future she may be but she has has a ways to go.

All around talent beyond 9 ball...

Jasmin is a very good all around player and will help promote other games to the public at large.
Jeanette also plays high level 14.1.

Jasmin aint going to be limited to competing in the WPBA, she will rob those events at will, she will be competing with the men(and alot of them aint going to have to like it either), since Jean B. I havent seen a woman play like her. there isnt a woman alive that can fade her, save the tournment talk, a race to 7 on ESPN is a joke-put her in the box racing any woman in the world to 100 and see. She robbs all the girls now-in a few years forget it,

I been sweating pool for to many years to be wrong on this-unless she goes nuts, gets in a bad relationship or wants kids and a family life. If she stays in pool 100%-none of the current or upcomming girls have a chance-no shot period. like I said its been well over 20 years since a talent like her has came along.

Window is open!!! for anyone who doubts this.

All the other girls have done great with their tour and are great for pool, for sure!!! Jeanette, Robin, all the snooker chix, all of them are great and are champions in their world, Jasmine isnt part of that world and never will be, she wont win as many tournments as Allison-never, she wont bother too. She is so much better than the other girls she wont spend her time chasing down those tournments, she will go to them when they are convenient or if she gets a endorsement deal and has to be there. Her game is light years ahead of ALL of the girls. How many tournments someone wins only demonstraits how consistant they are, Vivian will get the cash all the time but dosent have a history of snapping off WPBA titles, ts 2 different things.

people with some or little understanding of pool think that more WPBA wins=better player, and that since those who think that are green, we all were at one point-it takes years to learn pool(even for rail birds). Jasmine is so far ahead of the rest I'd bet it all on her in a race to 100 with every woman alive today and not sweat that bet at all, remember i'm a nit.

Considering the fact that every time she's on TV the ratings are significantly higher than for any other match (men's or women's), I'm sure the WPBA, ESPN and all the sponsors would love to see her as the face of women's pool. Most of us know that she pulled a .64 at the BCA tournament a couple years ago, which is the highest number for pool in at least a decade. As the saying goes though, you can lead a horse to water...

It seems to me that Jasmin has no intentions of taking the WPBA tour seriously. She'll skip events when something more interesting comes along (as she did with the Oregon event) and frankly, she spreads herself too thin to be at all consistent in the WPBA.

Fatboy I like your spunk. I will bet that Jasmin does not win two titles on the WPBA of the next 8 events.

Jasmin is a great player and she defintely is getting better. But so are Allison, Karen, Kelly, Xiao Ting, and Ga Young. Additionally, Shin Mei Lu is as good as any of them.

Any of these women are liable to beat any man on earth in any single race to 7 with alternate breaks. Being that this is a given there is no way that Jasmin wins all the single elimination sets at will.

It's a bad bet to say she will dominate. Allison and Karen raised the bar substantially. The finished what Jean Balukas started. Jean was decades ahead in the talent department. Now there are many women who can compete at Jean's level - or very close to it.

Jasmin comes into the WPBA facing great players. She may end up raising the bar as well but I don't think it will be in her domination of the WPBA. I think it will be to show the world that players of her caliber are world class regardless of gender.

I think that Jasmin may well be the first woman to take off a top major. Karen Corr has already won twice on the Joss Tour. Jasmin is going for bigger titles. She may be the one who breaks the gender barrier for good.

Fatboy, you would bet $100,000 or more on Jasmin against Allision, Karen, or Kelly in a race to 100? Really?

I'd put Kelly in the box if I had the time and money.

I have seen Kelly beat the ghost to death on a tight table. She plays as good as any other woman in the world and as good as a lot of men. Don't everyone jump down my throat about how YOUR guy will swim a river of crap to play Kelly any day. That isn't the discussion here.

Jazzy rocks! No doubt about it. A race to 100 against the top female players is gambling though, definitely not stealing.

Amen - the thing about Jasmin is that she is competing with men at the early stage of her career - Balukas was entering mens' tournaments towards the end of her career - I don't know of any female pool/billiard player successfully competing against the top male players early in their careers . And in my opinion I believe that Jasmin has not yet reached the top of her potential - so the best is yet to come.
