Just for the record: Allen Hopkins is not out of form -> finishing 5-2 in his group, and advancing to the semis.

Which happens to be the same result for Jasmin.

Oh, 5-2 is better record than Mike Davis and Charlie Williams (who are NOT twice her age, nor out of form); AND the same record as Dennis Hatch, Ralf Souquet, Warren Kiamco, Max Eberle, Fabio Petroni, Danny Harriman, and John Schmidt -> all of which are well known pool names (again not old or out of form).

Just admit it, she's as good as the men - and stop bashing.

I believe these players, the cha sisters, were given their invitations through the wpa, not directly through Charlie. They are ranked #1 and #3 respectively, in their country.

Jeanette was in fact invited, and could not attend.

Not to disparrage any player, but to reply in the same manner as cuechic, liz ford is not ranked in the top 25 in her country.

Jasmin's record so far is meaningless. She was in one of the weaker brackets; as soon as they announced the groupings there was a good bet who the four players to escape from that bracket were going to be. Jesse Rice and Mark Snodgrass, both good players, could have pulled an upset or two and made it in, but on paper, Jasmin was all but guaranteed to have a winning record thus far.

However, I definitely believe she plays a top game of straight pool. Beating Allen is a hell of an accomplishment. Her strong finish last year is incredible as well.

I have a ton of respect for her game, but all I'm saying is you can't compare her record in this tournament so far to those other guys who were all playing in more difficult brackets.

lets's lay off Island drive a bit folks, he wasn't bashing her and he makes a legitimate point and is just asking a question. the point was hopkins is hardly in his prime despite playing well atm, and it's still early days. he's asking is she being overhyped, or is she the real deal? fair enough question imo.

and i think she is the real deal. i've already said it but i'll say it again, one of the smoothest strokes i've ever seen. a cross between buddy hall's and earl's! and you don't have the success she has had so far in straight pool without knowing your stuff. you don't fluke your way through 14.1.
 
She's really got the drive to win too. I was very impressed with her in an interview I recently saw on ESPN after winning one of her titles. She's very focused on continuous improvement and really seems to have her head together. Often times I feel like I can tell when Jeanette Lee or other noteworthy top women's pros will miss because they don't approach the table confidently when faced with a tough shot. Jasmin, on the other hand, always seems in control of the situation.
 
I wish I could watch her play live. Seeing a girl beat up on the boys is awesome in my book and I'd like to see a lot more of it. I wouldn't know what to do though, cus my heart goes LUB DUB just watching her on TV. LOL.

She's at least a top 16 finisher in the world straight pool championships. I'm calling it a mega-smackdown ;)

I was sweating the first half hour of her 8:00 match last night. In the first 30 minutes of the match, her opponent only made two cue strokes. She was, dare I say it....en fuego!

if you ask me. Kristanna Loken is her name.

Maybe if Jasmin enters into all of the men's tournaments and starts to kick ass the men's pool will get more TV time :D . Seriously, this is a possibility IMHO.

It sure is not hard to see the seriousness or determination in her face when she plays, and that she has paid attention to her mentors and coaches.
And yes, she is attractive, but not what I would call beautiful, you guys are just horndogs! It doesn't take much to make you pant!!! :D (you guys should really look beyond the package sometime, you might learn something).

Attractive women has been sterotyped in the past as being ditzes, and not really capable of any great achievement in their life. It is refeshing, even in Pool, to see that sterotype being disproven.

I said it before, Jasmin is the 'new' Allison in training!!!
