I was set to have a challenge match in about 3 hours from now. Bar box 8-ball race to 7, 10-ball Big table to 7 ahead and a tiebreaker if necessary of either 14.1 or banks. We set this up weeks ago and have both been getting ready for it, atleast I have.

About an hour ago he sent me a message and said he accidentally double booked and had some business to attend to outside of town. He offered to play on another day, find a replacement player, or just pay up. Seeing that I couldn't do the other days, and I wasn't too sure about the replacement player (you know how that can go), I accepted his offer of just paying up. And we determined that we'd try and schedule something again next month and double the bet.

I haven't received the money yet, but he said Sunday I'll have cash in hand. We aren't talking a lot of money here, but money is money right.

During the few weeks that we have booked up this night, I had other offers for matches that I had to turn down, so I'm glad I'm not getting completely stiffed here.

Have you ever had someone pay up for a scheduled match that they couldn't make last minute?

Wow!! That's amazing. Good thing it wasn't me...you would have gotten a raincheck and that's about it.:grin-square:

Come down to Kolbys and we can play,I will be there later on.

I might do that Lenny! I was thinking either Kitty's or Northern have open tournaments tonight (8 ball Barbox), but I don't like the Northern one because it's just race to 1. But I know there will be some ring games going on afterwards. Same with Kitty's but it's race to 2. 200% payback for both. $10 to win $200 ain't bad.

Now Jason just sent me a message and said he might be able to do it anyway. We'll see I guess!

I have not been to either of these places, maybe I will run into Pete Gresh and get the $300 he owes me.

I have to say that it was very BIG of him to handle things this way, but I personally think it was a little poor of you to accept the money. I would have just waited until another day. I don't want someone's money that I did not earn or win.

Probably not! Maybe at Kitty's! I don't think he likes the guys at Northern. They were always rivals of the Alexander's people.

I haven't seen him around, but I'll let you know if I do.

You streaming anything tonight? Coming down isn't out of the question.

I second this.

I might go down and setup as I know there will be action going on most likely all night,I want to get in some good practice wth my new cue and play some one pocket so if your up for cheap one hole let me know,I know your higher rated but I will still play one pocket even.

Even though he tied up my night and I had to turn other action away? I even took this match over 2 weaker players than Jason. Both for more money as well.

When I put the action out there, I stated that I only had this one day that I could play for many hours. I have a 1 and 3 year old, 2 jobs and a wife that doesn't play pool.

And as I type this, he was able to change plans and we are back on in an hour.

You'd definitely have to give me weight in 1 hole. I've played a total of 10-12 games in my life. 3 or 4 of those were learning the rules. And another 3 or 4 were showing my brother (probably a 6) how to play while in Green Bay this summer and on a barbox.

I can understand there might be more involved than just a random match up that not everyone knows about, so I feel a little more educated on the situation.. I guess it depends on how much was going to be locked up in the sets.

I have never seen you play and didn't you run 122 in straights or something plus your rated higher so your firepower might overwhelm my moving,I will spot you the break which is worth atleast a ball,I just want to pick my pocket before you break. :)
