Fatboy,
You should come next year. It really is a blast.

i will, you can count on that, i'll play anybody just for the experience, i just got beat worse than ever, i was in a coma puppy doggin the ball which is fine i just need to keeep at it-playing champions, i'm done with playing games where i'm better. I want to play the best players constantly at some point I'll break through, i had a few chances tonight and dogged it-it was my worst beating in 22 years,

like I said here on AZ long ago there are great places in the world outside of America. Shit here is too tough, i'm honestly sick of the lawyers, etc. Stress kills. I'm not into the girls there so that wouldnt be a distraction for me, but a nice easy life, pool, no lawyers, and comfortable clots and not being juged where ever you go would be great, i would leave there for Brasil 2 time a year for the girls-thats the kind of girls i'm into.

Serious question, can you play barefoot there in the pool rooms? I play bare foot everywhere I play which is cool I appericate the rooms I go to letting me do that. I hate shoes when I'm playing-awalys have.

Nice story Jay. Keep safe and stay away from trouble. Thanks for that OB-1 shaft. It's a good piece of shaft technology.

I surely would have been nice to have met John Barton in person. Maybe next time. When you passby HK, PM me.

plague = Alex Lely... So, it was you playing Dodong Didal at One-side. I was on another table playing with fellow AZber Troyroy78 near the toilet. Dodong surely looked like he is just recovering from an illness. He didn't look like that last year when I saw him.

Serious answer... I don't think you want to do that. I've not seen a pool hall on carpet anywhere in Philippines except for private rooms.

my feet are like elephant feet on the bottom, tough as nails, i never wear shoes, unless i have too, i can walk on gravel with no problems, glass to a exent, its taken me my whole life to get my feel like this, so as long as the floors arnt cold-which i seriously doubt It. it dosent matter to me, i just wondered what the rules are, i feel much better when i play barefoot. So why if its allowed would it be a problem?, would i upset anyone there? these are serious questions, sure i'll figure it out when I get there and have shoes to play in. I'm just trying to gain some insight, i sincerly appericate your help. Jay will verify i'm not Joking when we play i never wear shoes, If the ground is dirty it will wash off. my feet are callouses and they dont stain. thanks in advnce.

i'm off to bed, please answere this i'm leaving this window open to check in the morning,

good night to all.

thx

i think it's all up to you, the locals might look at it as odd, they mnight see it as weird. most pool room here are air-conditioned and if the floors are not carpeted, expect a cold cement on their floors.

well, Filipinos wear slippers, much like flip-flops or sandals, which range from warm leather-made ones and the the open air rubber-made ones. You might want to try some of it, just a suggestion.

The locals won't mind as long as they are not smelly. ;) Most people do wear flip-flops as Jeffwinters mentioned. So, there you go Fatboy, you can be barefooted if you like. What counts most is that you have the $$$ to pay up. :D

I hope I don't offend anyone with my tales of Angeles City, but I try to tell it just like I see it. No holds barred. I am staying just around the corner from where Ted Lerner lives, my co-commentator on the recent WPC TV shows. He has a nice 3BR house where he lives with his lovely wife Aurora (filipino) and 13 year old daughter Shanti. He first visited 17 years ago and has lived here for 14 years now. He has encouraged me to think of a move here, but my family and business in the states make that impossible now. Maybe some day. I like it here, not quite so crowded and much cleaner air. And far less expensive than Manila.

I hope you're not offending anyone. Your writings are candid and reasonable.

We want you to tell us more about Angeles City, the players, pool and JAY'S TRAVELS.

i arrived on wednesday to leave friday the next week, after my loss to Gomez in the last 64; a 3 inning-match; the 2nd i had to jump, the 3rd i resafed...he long-banked it,that was that.
i had the best bootcamp in One Side though. i have been matching up 10,20 and 30k sets for about 70 hours total. the money that i did win, was lost to Penha, Russian (pinoy) and a guy named Carlo, all around 26 years of age. And they certainly played jam up as posted before. I spar regularly with Niels Feijen, but in 6,7 hour sessions i have never gotten so few chances as with the pinoys. and it's not that they play a tight defensive game...they play ultra aggressive, max. spin. max. shotmaking
as Barton stated, the way they solve problems, clip balls, play shape using other balls...it was new to me. And always playing 10-ball...they broke the balls good! A lot comes from rotation:even though it is not played so much anymore, playing them rotation you recognise these type of shots that they use in 9- and 10-ball. as well as good kicking skills...and they just keep on coming!!
i beat one Dodong in rotation and then i felt i could take on russian in rotation: he ran the first two, i missed a 4-ball in the 3rd, he ran out, broke and ran out...he ran over me
the last night that i played, i was in a good game. what does that count for...1-1 in sets, double the bet race to 13, he ran the first 6!!i did get to 11-11, but in those last 20 minutes there was a lot of movement around my table just when i was shooting key-shots in a rack:player, backers, referee, railbirds in my line of shot or right behind me. i was unable to cope with that and when missing they started to laugh!! tough action, but i have learned a lot! i felt like leaving Vegas: happy to not have gone broke (after all the action a $200 loser)

Here's the mug shots of the suspects Alex! :D
